At N° 8 quai de l’Infante, on the harbour of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the Art’Sélect gallery awards a place of honour to Spanish artists.
Poppy fields painted using a knife , a bouquet of bood-red roses, but also landscapes of Navarra, Sierra… This season, the Galerie du Quai de l’Infante proposes an artistic voyage in which colour hits hard, bursts open, whisks you away. Though what could be more natural when exhibiting the work of two Spanish painters, Luis Fernández Hebrero of Madrid and Martxe Arana of San Sebastian? "They are both artists with long-acquired gestures, Impressionist touches for him, and a more Fauvist palette for her," explains gallery-owner Edith Marchant. A loyal supporter of local painters who, in her 17th-C. building, gives an admirable account of their work.
